Play tic-tac-toe online with strangers
Yawnfox lets you play tic-tac-toe with a random stranger during a free video chat, right in your browser. Once you are matched, invite them from the Games menu, where it is called X / O; whoever invites plays X and moves first, and the first to get three in a row wins.

How to play
- Open the video chat and confirm your age.
- Allow your camera and microphone, add topics if you like, and press Start to meet a random stranger.
- Once you are connected, tap Games and choose X / O. The stranger has 20 seconds to accept.
- Take turns placing your mark on the 3 × 3 board. The inviter is X and goes first.
- Get three of your marks in a row, a column or a diagonal to win. A full board with no line is a draw.
Rules and requirements
- Two players: you and the stranger you are matched with.
- The board is 3 × 3 and turns strictly alternate.
- Moves go between your two browsers, never through our servers.
- Your camera can be on or off while you play, but you need to allow camera and microphone access to start the video chat.
Questions
Do I need an account to play tic-tac-toe with strangers?
No. There are no accounts. Open the video chat, confirm your age, and invite whoever you are matched with.
Is X / O the same as tic-tac-toe?
Yes. In the Games menu during a chat, tic-tac-toe is listed as X / O.
Who goes first?
Whoever sends the invite plays X and moves first. To swap, the other player sends the next invite.
